I enjoyed my weekend stay with convenient access to Dunbar Park, just about 4.5 km away, where I reveled in the natural beauty and peaceful walking trails, and the nearby Upper Purgatory Trailhead was perfect for a scenic stroll through lush landscapes. although I appreciated the comfortable amenities, I did notice some cleanliness issues in the room that could be improved.

The bed was super comfy, and I loved that they had a nice little pool area for some relaxation after a long day. There’s also a great lounge for chilling out, which I enjoyed! Just wish the Wi-Fi was a bit faster, but overall a solid stay. 😊

Great location with comfortable beds.

It was just a perfect match for a quick break in San Marcos with outstanding value. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a long day. Bring snacks, as the dining options nearby were limited.

I had a pretty nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express in San Marcos. The room was cozy and clean, and Carol really stood out with her friendly attitude, always ready to help. It felt welcoming to have such personable staff around. The hot tub was a fantastic relief after a long day, making it a great way to unwind. On the downside, I found the breakfast selection to be a bit limited, which was disappointing since I always look forward to a good morning meal. Additionally, the location felt a bit hectic, with noise from the nearby traffic. It didn't ruin my stay, but a quieter setting would be ideal for relaxation.

Friendly staff, clean room, which was equipped with a flat-screen TV and a comfortable bed, made our stay enjoyable, especially with the convenient 24-hour reception and free parking available.

Unfortunately, the room cleanliness left much to be desired. I noticed stained fixtures in the bathroom, stray nail clippings by the AC, and the pillows had an unpleasant odor, which detracted from the overall comfort. Additionally, the room's air conditioning struggled to maintain a consistent temperature, which was uncomfortable during the night.

Convenient location but cleanliness concerns

The location near the outlet mall is fantastic, making shopping very convenient. However, our stay was marred by a clogged drain and a lack of cleanliness in the room, including a dusty floor and a dirty sink with hair. The staff was helpful in addressing the maintenance issue, but the overall cleanliness didn’t meet expectations.

I enjoyed the spacious Standard King Room and the comfortable bed during my stay. Carol was super friendly and really helped us out with any questions we had.
